The Hospitality of Abraham (Old Testament Trinity)

This icon depicts the Hospitality of Abraham, also known as the Old Testament Trinity, rendered in the traditional Byzantine style. 

The scene portrays the three angelic figures who appeared to Abraham at the Oak of Mamre, symbolizing the mystery of the Holy Trinity. The angels are seated around a table in harmonious balance, expressing divine unity, peace, and eternal communion. Their serene expressions and graceful gestures convey holiness, wisdom, and heavenly presence.

At the center of the composition stands the sacred table with a chalice, prefiguring the Eucharist and the sacrificial offering of Christ. In the background, the architectural structure, the tree, and the mountain symbolize the house of Abraham, the Oak of Mamre, and the spiritual ascent toward God. The halos and traditional Byzantine inscriptions affirm the sacred identity of the holy figures.

The garments are painted in rich red, blue, green, and golden tones. These colors symbolize divine glory, spiritual life, sacrifice, and heavenly authority.
