Virgin Mary Mother of God

This icon depicts Virgin Mary, Mother of God, holding the Christ Child, shown in the traditional Byzantine style. 

The Mother of God is presented frontally with a gentle and contemplative expression, directing attention toward Christ, who rests in her arms as the source of salvation and divine wisdom. Christ is shown blessing with His right hand while holding a scroll in His left hand, symbolizing His teaching and divine authority. The angels depicted in the upper corners emphasize the heavenly nature of the scene. 

The halo and traditional inscriptions affirm the sacred identity of both the Virgin and Christ. The garments are painted in rich purple, blue, and gold tones, symbolizing purity, royalty, and divinity.

The background is covered with genuine 24-karat gold leaf, carefully applied by hand. The gold used is real 24K gold. The pigments are specially prepared traditional mixtures, following the methods used in historic iconography. 

These materials make the icon highly durable and resistant, allowing it to be preserved for hundreds of years, as seen in surviving ancient icons.
