Byzantine Cross

This hand-crafted Byzantine cross depicts the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ in the traditional Orthodox style. 

Christ is shown crucified upon the Cross with His head gently inclined, expressing both sacrifice and divine peace. His halo bears the sacred Christogram, affirming His divine identity and eternal kingship. The composition reflects the profound mystery of the Passion, redemption, and victory over death.

At the sides of the Cross appear the sorrowful figures of Virgin Mary and Saint John the Theologian, standing in prayer and mourning before the Crucified Lord. Above the Crucifixion scene, symbolic details connected with the Passion are represented, while at the lower section the skull of Adam is depicted, symbolizing the redemption of humanity through Christ’s sacrifice. The entire composition follows the sacred traditions of Byzantine iconography, emphasizing prayer, contemplation, and spiritual devotion.

The cross is painted with rich traditional colors and delicate hand-drawn details that enhance its spiritual beauty and symbolic meaning. The background is covered with genuine 24-karat gold leaf, carefully applied by hand. The gold used is real 24K gold.
