Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ

This handcrafted icon depicts Jesus Christ in the traditional Byzantine style, presented as Christ Pantocrator, the Almighty and Eternal Teacher.

Christ is shown frontally, raising His right hand in blessing while holding the Holy Gospel in His left hand, symbolizing His divine authority, wisdom, and the message of salvation. His serene and solemn expression reflects mercy, truth, and righteous judgment.

The halo bears the traditional Christogram with the sacred inscription “Ὁ ὬΝ” (“He Who Is”), affirming the eternal divinity of Christ according to Orthodox Christian theology. His garments are painted in luminous blue and soft red tones, symbolizing His divine nature and His incarnation as both God and man. The finely decorated Gospel book further emphasizes His role as the source of spiritual truth and eternal life.

The background is covered with genuine 24-karat gold leaf, carefully applied by hand. The gold used is real 24K gold. The pigments are specially prepared traditional mixtures, following the methods used in historic Byzantine iconography. These traditional materials provide exceptional brilliance, depth, and durability, ensuring the icon remains vibrant and preserved for generations.

Each icon is 100 percent handmade by skilled iconographers. Every stage of the process is completed entirely by hand, according to the sacred artistic traditions preserved in Orthodox Christian iconography for centuries. The wooden panel is specially selected and carved by an expert woodcarver, ensuring stability, strength, and exceptional craftsmanship.

These authentic materials and traditional techniques make the icon highly durable and resistant, allowing it to endure for hundreds of years, as demonstrated by surviving Byzantine icons throughout history. This sacred handcrafted icon is both a devotional treasure and a timeless work of Christian sacred art, ideal for prayer, blessing, and spiritual contemplation.
