Jesus Christ

This icon depicts Jesus Christ as Christ Pantocrator, shown in the traditional Byzantine style.

Christ is presented frontally, raising His right hand in a gesture of blessing while holding the Holy Gospel in His left hand, symbolizing His divine wisdom, teaching, and authority. His serene and solemn expression reflects both mercy and righteous judgment, inviting prayer and contemplation.

The halo bears the traditional Christogram “IC XC” together with the sacred inscription “Ὁ ὬΝ” (“He Who Is”), affirming the eternal and divine nature of Christ. His garments are painted in vivid crimson and deep green-blue tones, symbolizing His humanity and divinity united in one person. The carefully balanced composition and luminous highlights follow the authentic techniques of Byzantine iconography.

The background is covered with genuine 24-karat gold leaf, carefully applied by hand. The gold used is real 24K gold. The pigments are specially prepared traditional mixtures, following the methods used in historic iconography. These materials make the icon highly durable and resistant, allowing it to be preserved for hundreds of years, as seen in surviving ancient icons.

Each icon is authentic and handmade by skilled iconographers. Every stage of the process is completed by hand. The wooden panel is specially selected and carved by an expert woodcarver, ensuring stability and quality.
