Saint Eleftherios

This handcrafted icon depicts Saint Eleftherios in the traditional Byzantine style. Saint Eleftherios is portrayed frontally, dressed in the sacred vestments of a bishop, symbolizing his role as a spiritual shepherd and defender of the Christian faith.

In his right hand, he offers a gesture of blessing, while in his left hand he holds the Holy Gospel, representing divine wisdom, truth, and his dedication to preaching the word of God.

His calm and contemplative expression reflects spiritual strength, wisdom, and unwavering faith during persecution and martyrdom. The halo surrounding his head signifies his sanctity and eternal presence within the Orthodox Christian tradition.

The background is covered with genuine 24-karat gold leaf, carefully applied by hand. The gold used is real 24K gold, giving the icon a luminous and timeless appearance that reflects the sacred light of heaven.

The pigments are specially prepared according to traditional Byzantine iconographic methods, preserving techniques that have been handed down through generations of iconographers. These authentic materials make the icon exceptionally durable and resistant, allowing it to endure for centuries, just like the historic icons preserved in monasteries and churches.

Each icon is entirely handmade by skilled iconographers with deep respect for the Orthodox artistic tradition. Every stage of the process is completed by hand, from the preparation of the wooden panel to the final painted details and gold leaf application.

The wooden panel is carefully selected and crafted by an experienced woodcarver to ensure stability, durability, and high quality.
