Saint Symeon the God-Receiver

This icon depicts Saint Symeon the God-Receiver, shown in the traditional Byzantine style holding the Christ Child in his arms. Saint Symeon is presented with a gentle and contemplative expression, symbolizing wisdom, faith, and the fulfillment of God’s promise. 

The Christ Child is seated calmly in his embrace, blessing with His hand and revealing His divine presence. The scroll held by Saint Symeon represents his prophetic words and testimony to the coming of the Messiah.

The garments are painted in soft green, blue, and earthy tones, highlighting humility, holiness, and spiritual peace. The haloes and background are covered with genuine 24-karat gold leaf, carefully applied by hand. 

The gold used is real 24K gold. The pigments are specially prepared traditional mixtures, following the methods used in historic Byzantine iconography.
