Saint Theodore the Tyro

This icon depicts Saint Theodore the Tyro, shown in the traditional Byzantine style. Saint Theodore is portrayed as a victorious warrior saint, standing dynamically over a defeated dragon, symbolizing the triumph of faith and good over evil. 

He raises a sword in his right hand while holding a bow, emphasizing his courage, spiritual strength, and steadfast devotion to Christ. His calm yet determined expression reflects bravery and unwavering faith. 

The halo affirms his sanctity, while his richly decorated military garments in red, gold, and deep blue tones symbolize martyrdom, nobility, and divine protection.

The background is covered with genuine 24-karat gold leaf, carefully applied by hand. The gold used is real 24K gold. 

The pigments are specially prepared traditional mixtures, following the methods used in historic iconography.
